laquered wooden box by Piero Fornasetti. The box measures about 14 inches by 7 inches with a height of 2 inches. It sports it's original felt on the bottom. This is a wonderful color combination of Black with pale yellow antique motifs convering the piece....a pocket watch...compass, a key, pens, art supplies, flowers ,butterflies and a fishing lure. It is beautiful ...There is a long piano type brass hinge on the backside. It is just begging you to look at it...This is probably one of his earlier works probably in the 60's or 70's and no doubt ranks high in desirability.
