Up for consideration is a beautiful late 19th Century Italian carved wood
Sculpture depicting a Neoclassical Putti Cherub in Grotto style holding a seashell top in polychromatic coloration. The base color is a silver with green red and gold highlights. It is all original with no touchups.. It measures 25 inches in width by 14.5 inches deep with a height of about 40 inches in height. Which makes one of the largest versions of this form available. It is without a doubt fantastic piece in excellent overall condition...if you look at the bottom one can see that is it carved from a single natural piece of wood. Whereas newer carved pieces are done with lumber that has been glued together...then carved...this has been carved from an actual tree.
