X Rare Antique Oppenheimer & Levy NY The Veiling House Store Advertising Mirror

Up for consdideration is an extremely rare "The Veiling House" Adjustable store
display counter mirror by S. Oppenheimer & Levy at 471 Broadway NY. The mirror is made of nickel brass and is weighted, it tilts and and adjusts up and down. The Mirror is beveled and is acid etched with the following: "Trade Mark on every Yard Ask for Strongarm Veiling". It stands about 36 inches when extended with the mirror itself coming in at about 12 by 14 inches more or less. S. Oppenheimer & Levy were importers of Veils etc...at that location from about the early 1880's to about 1909. It then turned into Van Raalte Company in 1909. E. Van Raalte was an office boy who worked for Oppenheimer & Levy and by 1904 he bought out Mr. Oppenheimer's interest and by 1907 Mr. Levy withdrew hence by 1909 E & Z Raalte started their American Veil and Netting factory. Hence this extraordinarily rare advertising counter used mirror is of great interest to a variety of collectors in varying fields let alone New Yorkers, Items from this company are scarce.
