Advertising Illustration Painting Poster NY Dog Show 1916 Grand Central Palace

$ 17500.00
up for consideration is an extremely Rare original Watercolor Illustration Art
work promoting a Dog Show at Grand Central Palace in NY on March of 1916. The piece without the frame measures  standard 14.5 by 19.5 artist hardboard. This may have been done as a poster or reduced to a smaller magazine advertisement or hand bill.  It is signed in the lower right. This piece is over the top as for "Dog Show" memorabilia and it's historical significance can not be understated. Anything in this Genre is literally unheard of other than photos and possibly a trophy...or literature. This was a time when NY had just built the New Grand Central Palace meaning a new and larger exhibition venue. Judges for events were not recorded in the historical records and categories for showing and placement were developing. Likewise Dog Shows in around that time had been going for a few decades but records are and were rather scant. We do know that the Who's Who of the day were involved in showing their dogs from all over the world in New York during this time...period....in general posters are highly sought after especially of events or designs by famous artists of particular interest. We also know that the original artwork design for such posters and advertising pieces in local and nationally syndicated magazines can bring hundreds of thousands of dollars when the right artist produces the right piece during the right time with the right exposure. The coloration of this piece is wonderful with striking overall design. There are only one of these... Nobody gets tired of man's best friend or the City the hosts such events.... NY is and was the place. Provenance available to buyer only.  We have been selling rare and highly desirable items for decades. We have been around for almost 25 years and have a proven track record here on Ebay.
