Housed in its original limed/pickled ribbed wood frame — that blond “cerused
oak” look that dates the piece firmly to the 1940s–50s. The kraft paper backing carries the original silver foil label of Wisintainer, Montreal — Est. 1887, Manufacturers of Mouldings, a long-running Montreal frame moulding house. There is faint pencil script on the backing paper, now largely illegible. Details: • Medium: Oil on canvas board• Frame: original limed wood, ribbed profile• Signature: no clearly legible signature; a few faint marks at lower right may be an artist’s mark. Sold as unattributed.• Original hanging wire in place Condition: Very good vintage condition. Paint surface is stable and bright with no flaking, losses, or overpaint noted.
