Up for consideration is a large 18th or 19th Century Antique Chinese Export Tea
Container made of tole converted into a lamp. It decorated in a unique and probably origina sea foam teal turqouise color with muted gold cartouche and accents in a wonderful old patina. The canister itself measures 18 inches in height by about by 11 inches wide and is rather "fat" or "stout". This sort of pattern was resurfaced in the 40's 50's and 60's when everyone and their brother got into the Antique craze of which companies sold antique type decorating kits with stickers and stencils...I guess in response to the modernistic and minimalistic trends in home decor. I guess you can call it Colonial Revival. But make no mistake this is an old original piece of which the revivalist seek to capture it's beauty however when one sees the old original pieces it's easy to see why people tried to capture that warm unique Old World Charm.
