Up for consideration is a beautiful mid to late 18th Century Italian carved wood
Console table with good original paint. It measures 57 inches in length by 37 inches in height by 18 inches deep. The top is faux painted wood to simulate a red mottled marble. This type of marble was popular in the mid 18th century. With all original finishes of the period there is some natural paint loss shrinkage and distress. The piece photographs as well as it actually is and that is wonderful !!! Especially in the natural outdoor late afternoon outdoor natural light. Likewise there are hints of red and green in the legs that are extremely muted but one can see the traces in the correct light. It physically a light piece and is constructed entirely of soft wood. As you probably already know the entire piece is bench made or hand crafted. It is a real gem. It has been part of my personal collection of which I am now selling. It was originally part of a private collection from a lofty old advanced collector out here in West Bloomfield Michigan. Free local pickup and free short distance delivery.
