Italian Doge Venice Oil Painting Marino Grimani 17th Cent. Old Master Bassano

$ 19500.00
Up for consideration is an Important and Rare Old Masters Bust Portrait of
Marino Grimani who was the Doges of Venice from (1595-1605) Marino Grimani lived from (1532-1605) The painting itself without the frame measures 14.5 inches by 19.25 inches in height with overall height of the frame being 29.5 x 26 inches...the frame is about 4 inches deep and is spectacular... The Stretcher is turning to dust in the upper right corner and needs attention...There is a slight buckle in the painting as one is unable to tighten the canvas without the repair...no visible repairs to the canvas...The frame is extremely heavy about 4 inches deep and constructed quite differently from modern techniques.

There are a few portraits of Grimani however this particular version shows characteristics similar to that of Leandro Bassano's maybe it's a copy of that portrait or a fragment from a larger piece...not sure.
