up for consideration is a fine water and pen illustration of an old guy weilding flint lock pistols from earlier times. He looks like a real character no doubt and illustration. It signed with a monogram with conjoined "WP" please see photos which is probably done by Willy Pogany as he is known to have a few monogram type insignias and work many is this genre of subject matter. The work of art without the matting measures about 7 by 10. 5 inches and with the matting about 10.5 by 14 inches. Some adhesive has let go and the work of art is semi-detached from the backing. Likewise it looks like a bit too much adhesive leaked through the work of art discoloring the area near the signature. Please understand the fellows work brings some fairly decent money one only needs to look at his work to understand why. He is noted to have worked in NY as well as California.
