This beautiful piece is a vintage, hand- painted ceramic lidded jar made in
Italy by Mira. It features intricate three-dimensional yellow flowers and green leaves arranged on the lid that sits atop a charming white, footed base. The base has an embossed scroll like design.While often used as a decorative centerpiece in the popular Capodimonte style, the lidded design makes it function perfectly as a small trinket box, spice jar, or candy dish.It is stamped on the underside with the manufacturer's mark "Mira ltaly P720".Measures 6 1/2" in height with an approximate 5 1/2" diameter.This piece is in good vintage condition. As is common with this style of ceramic ware, there are a few chips on some of the flower petals/leaves (please refer to photos for details). The glaze is glossy and intact, with no cracks or crazing.
