Up for consideration is fine oil Portrait of Kayan (Borneo) Family Mother with twins. It is signed Adams for Wayman Elbridge Adams (1883-1959). He was a noted Indiana portrait painter and was interested in capturing multicultural families that had been in the United states for some time but were from other countries and cultures. He was commissioned to do 24 portraits for a local hospital of children showing the diversity of cultures in the United States. This may be one of those endeavors or something that wasn't selected. The painting measures 14 by 17 inches and is in nice condition. It has exhibition labels on the back as well as information regarding family artist's family. Adams was known to have visited Europe.
