Il nuovo scarpone custom Atomic Backland Carbon ha scafo rinforzato, linguetta rigida e scarpetta sostenuta, che lo rendono robusto e molto performante in discesa. La scarpetta è anche perforata nella parte inferiore per una maggiore traspirabilità. In più lo scarpone è dotato di perno Frictionless, sistema Quick Click Tongue e meccanismo Free/Lock 2.0, che libera il gambetto dallo scafo, dandogli una incredibile mobilità naturale di 74°. A differenza degli altri scarponi da sci alpinismo, il Backland si avvale anche della tecnologia Atomic all-mountain, per esempio della Carbon Spine per una sciata potente e del Memory Fit per un comfort insuperabile. Inoltre, il Cross Lace System avvolge il piede, mentre la suola è rockerata per la salita (con linguetta rigida).
