up for consideration is an old hammered Copper and Amber pebble glass Arts
Crafts Exterior wall sconce or light. It measures about 11.5 inches in height with a diameter of just under 5.5 inches and depth of 8 inches. The sconce has a wonderful textured shade that is like shagreen or sharkskin. It sports a hammered copper decorative mounting cap at back which covers the junction box. It is probably over 100 years of age and it retains all of it's original thumb screws an it's porcelain socket. The wiring in back needs updating. One can change a standard larger bulb from the bottom. You do not have to remove the shade. Please note the thumbscrews are probably fused together with the copper and will make a bit of challenge to remove the shade. This piece is not only attractive but is made of the right materials at the right time. These old amber shades really glow and set off you Arts Crafts estate...lighting is like jewelry is to humans...it sets the mood the ambience...so with real estate going through the roof put a marker down for good authentic lighting with character...
