up for consideration is a very hard to find Steuben threaded glass lamp base in aurene heart and vine pattern. The piece without the bulb stand about 10.5 inches in height with a fitter diameter of 6.5 inches. The fitter is held in place by 4 original thumb screws which loosen and allow one to lift off the fitter to view and or change the interior bulb socket. The interior socket matches the exterior socket but is shiny as it has had only limited access to the oxidization process. In general there are a series of threads that are missing as one knows they are delicate. There is one area that is fairly noticeable wear and one area that is pretty good. There are no chip cracks or repairs to the main body or the bottom rim...The interior center is sealed with no opening at the bottom. There are holes in fitter cap to allow for heat escape. No chips cracks or visible repairs. Even though the lamp has some expected aware at least you get a chance to show off the prized shade on authentic and appropriate base.
