Up for consideration is a wonderful 4 panel gilt wood Folding screen with Mural
by Listed Illinois/Michigan Artist Frank V. Hoffman (1905-1982). The piece is incredible it measures 78 inches in height by 96 inches in length. Each panel measures 24 inches wide and 78 inches in height. It is well made and is signed "F.V. Hoffman" in the lower left panel...The background is an Italian Gilt Patchwork that was very popular in the 50's or so...that means when you look at the piece the entire Gold work background is a series of gold square patches that overlap...with the foreground being a typical European Tapestry Scene or Mural with European figures dressed in 16th or 17th Century garb interacting with each other and with typical animals depicted in these scenes sheep dogs etc...The back is paneled frame with inset blue rectangular cartouche on each panel...please see photos. I would like viewers to note that this is a wonderful piece that is constructed by the artist and later painted...He is noted for doing Murals...this may be his most significant piece to hit the market as it has wonderful decorative appeal and looks to be almost European in it's overall style subject matter and composition... The hinges are 2 way folding hinges which allow the screen to be displayed in a variety of ways. hat means each end can be folded completely back or completely forward more or less 360 degrees. Or one could simply hang it on the wall as a mural (the piece weighs about 80 pounds...or unhinge the panels and spread them out ..they are 8 feet in overall width. I would imagine someone could but some distance between each panel...and hang them separately. Likewise it can be displayed as a two panel screen or fold an end as a 3 panel ...you decide. Free local pickup Free in State delivery. Likewise we deliver easily to the East Coast for a fee...West Coast is a bit tricky...South is a possibility...we also use Uship. If you have any questions or concerns please message me. Please see photos as part of the description. Buyer pays shipping. The piece needs to be delivered by hand ...so please message me if you have any questions concerns or something to share..
