incredible Oriental influenced Japanese design by Dr. Christopher Dresser. It is marked appropriately on the frame please see photos and with the Elkington date code for 1883. Likewise it is marked 10955 which is either a British registry design number or a design and or catalogue number for Elkington and or Dresser. Dr. Christopher Dresser as one of the leaders English Design in the latter part of the 19th Century design which he made famous by incorporating oriental designs after the Aesthetic Movement era designers were blown away by Japanese and their style during the World Fair Expositions during the times below...
