oval antique frame with tintype baby photo. It measures 2.8 inches in height and has an opening of 1.75 by 2.4". It is stamped Birks and sterling on the the front feet. The piece has a small easel on the back and is free standing...it has not been cleaned in decades and sports a small cute antique tintype photo of a child. The photo has been cut to fit the frame...This style of frame is always fashionable but was probably made around just after the turn of the Century...Birks was founded 1879 in Montreal Canada...and came together with his Sons in 1893 to be named Henry Birk & Sons...this is a widely known somewhat prestigious company that carried high quality items.
