Vtg MCM Mid Century Sculpture African American Girl Abstract Roger Pringle 37"

$ 1950.00
Thanks for stopping in ...up for purchase is wonderful large figurative abstract
sculpture of a young African American Woman by Regionalist "Roger Pringle" (artist unknown) anonymous. The sculpture stand about 37.5 inches by about 10 inches at the base. It marked by Wood Chisel "Roger Pringle 996-8261" on the bottom of the base. No visible repairs possible partially painted with old honest dusty patina...      The piece is mezmorizing as the girl captures your attention and holds it instantly. It is an interesting mixture of Neo-Classical old Romanesque destructivism with missing appendages and a wildly amazing overall design which flips back and forth between realism and abstraction...It is quite an exciting find...I have another large sculpture same artist that will also be listed separately and  purchased from the same old time warp Gallery here in Michigan. This place "The Gallery" lost its' way years ago leaving behind  a treasure trove of forgotten objects lurking behind closed doors under old dusty sheets like in old "B" film Noir movie from the 60's. It had transformed into a variety of businesses and nonprofits etc...until the 5 finger death punch of completely shuttering and being sold by family  Exactly... Yeah the kind of place that you see in the movies with creaking doors 4 floors with dusty old worn wooden stairs...and one would imagine art hounds would pay handsomely to teleport to such a place that for the most part really doesn't exist...only in the minds and fantasies of those on the perpetual hunt for the Golden Fleece....it was like a custom time warp weekend excursion into a forgotten world of yesteryear and in the end we purchased everthing.

Provenance: Private Collection, Western Michigan.        The painting was part of  a very interesting private collection in Western Michigan...and of course we bought it all !!! The good better and best as well as the Good, Bad and the Ugly... I mean the collection runs the gammet so stay tuned for some real exciting stuff from Coast to Coast self taught to Pennsylvania Impressionists. If you have any questions or something to share please message me.

Best Regards,

Johnny
