M. Pusylo on the back (Verso). It measures 24 by 36. As the board is cut U.S Standards of measurement it probably was done here in the US. The piece shows a display of Bread eggs Cabbage wooden bowl with some Exotic art in the corner... in a fresh nonstandard view which also shows artist easel part of the artists room as well as a portrait on the wall and draped patterned table cloth...like much of the art of this genre it really takes some training to recognize something important and then on the other hand you can take everything you ever learned and throw it right out the window and for the most part in a sort of contrived reality...same painting different person (if this guy did it it's $250) if the other guy did you just keep adding zeros to the end of that. The Art World was is and will always been a bit snobby...and of course political and in the end confusing...and very easy to understand...those with a wonderful education dynamic personalities and incredible skills can be worth little or millions...and likewise those who are deemed mad unintelligible spiritualistic with little formal training their works can also be worth little or millions. Yes most of the "new ideas" were simply borrowed from another Culture or other artists who got it from another artist who got it from their Mentor who got it from a student ....etc or some Divine or existential awakening based on conflict or resolution...or simply an accident or the cultivating of a "new" technique...borrowed from someone else who has a great eye...mind you yes it is was historically significant...she/he travelled to Europe and brought new ideas back...Galleries and strategic well connected and influental business oriented individuals throughout history simply decided who would could or should be the next upcoming thing based on well I guess Commerce...and marketabality stay tuned for more useless fictional lectures that do nothing but lead you astray. Provenance: Private Collection, Western Michigan. The painting was in a very interesting private collection in Western Michigan...We bought it all !!!
