Up for consideration is a Fine Italian signed life size Original Bust of Mother and Child titled "Maternita" by Listed Italian Artist Angiolo Malavolti (1876-1947). The piece stands 22.5 inches in height and to say the least is well done...The piece comes in 2 pieces the work of Art or Bust and the Socle...or base....This is a Classic Italian piece of which you may run across a copy from time to time in Chalkware and or Terracotta...However this is an original work of Art and is sculpted by hand by the Artist Angiolo Malavolti probably just after the turn of the century. The upper bust has a metal pin on the bottom that fits in the socle...thusly the work of art can be fully appreciated by rotating the bust to show or admire the incredible details in 3 dimensional form. It looks outstanding in any position...the adoration and bond captured between mother and child radiates throughout the room. This work has a soul. It comes from a clean nonsmokers estate. Condition: there is a old repair to the Socle and some minor discoloration...please see photos... Placement: The piece weighs maybe 70lbs or more...so you need to move the socle or plinth (base) first to where you like the Bust to rest...then simply pick up the bust and place the bust's pin on the bottom of the bust into the base...in the hole...then you are all set...you can then rotate the bust to change the view whenever you like...please do not try and lift the whole bust when it is in the socle and move it this will cause damage to both top and or bottom and may result in personal injury...this is a real work of Art it's heavy and well done...thanks...and enjoy...Best Regards,JohnJohnnyCrystal Est. 1987
