Vtg MCM American Neon Advertising Sign Greyhound Animated 46" Running Works

Up for consideration is a vintage Greyhound Made in USA Aluminum and Neon
Animated running Greyhound sign in good working order. The sign measures about 46 in length by about 22 inches in height excluding the mounting chains and about 6 inches deep. It has a "France" "FranceFormer" transformer inside as seen through the backside. I can't seem to find another one as such. It comes from a very special estate of which the fellow a "Veternarian" collected Antique items related to Greyhound Whippets and other animals. Beneath the dog looks to be a stylized version of a bus with fenders that were popular during the 1930's or so and is reminiscent of the items made during the World's Fair in Chicago in 1933 -1934 as arcade made cast Iron Greyhound Toy buses under that guise. However please understand it looks to be made possible 40 or 50 years ago not sure. It is a bit dirty inside with the open back. Perhaps those in the know can shed some light on its origins and date utilizing information from the inner works. Please note that I can not find a similar sign in the historical record. It is written in crayon on the inside "GH Sign #2". According to information from online sources there are companies here in the US that do manufacture custom made Neon signs off original forms as well as custom made work... and it may be possible that the Doctor or previous owner before that had it custom made for himself...please understand he had a huge pole barn/ Warehouse full of interesting items. Accordingly it was in his collection for about 25 years at least...This piece will be hand delivered or the buyer can pick it up. Free short distance delivery longer distances will be paid by buyer.
