Up for consideration is a fine Oriental Antique Table Top vanity mirror with
wonderful Koi Fish Motifs in a scene found often in Japanese wood block prints. It stands about 14.75 inches in height with a width of 11 inches and a base diameter of about 7.5 inches. The piece is embellished with 2 figural Coy fish finials on each side of the mirror with a variety of colorful carp swimming in the turbulent water below much like is shown in some early Woodblock prints. The coloration is second to none and the overall condition and composition sets it apart as one of the better examples to be found in the historical record. The enamel work is in excellent condition whereas the mirror has become a bit cloudy on both sides. Which adds to that Old World Charm...One side of the mirror magnifies a bit more than the other. It probably had a paper label and dates probably from around the turn of the century and or possibly into the 1920's or so. The more you look at it the better it gets. If you have any questions, concerns or something to share feel free to message me. Buyer pays shipping. Please check out my other listings...for additional items of interest.
