Up for consideration is a lovely Antique oil on canvas painting of girl putting
on makeup at her dressing table. The painting alone measures 16 by 20 inches with overall measurements including the frame being 25 by 29. The painting is signed in the lower left "Harry T. Harvey" and has an artist inventory number of 5194 and is title "At The Dressing Table" on the stretcher on the back. Harvey an American/English Artist, is best known for his Bucolic old English style landscapes but this is truly quite and wonderful piece highlighting the artists hidden talents as something other than a landscape. I like it the palette is well chosen and the overall work is believable. Likewise the girl is cute...and let's face if you are going to live with a piece you better like it! This may have been an illustration for a book or just a whimsical piece done for a client or himself. It comes from a clean pet free wonderful old estate in the Boston Edison district in Detroit.
