Aft. Bruce Nauman (1941-) Solid Bronze fine Detailed Cast Hand Sculpture 8" MCM

up for consideration Finely cast model of a human hand after the artist Bruce
Nauman (1941-). The piece is heavy cast bronze in a hyperrealism form showing fingerprints etc. It measures 8 inches in length by 4.5 inches in width by about 3 inches in height. It looks as if the the fingers were possible cast separately and then welded on secondly that the mold flashed, or possibly done intentionally like Bruce Nauman's famous work "All Thumbs" which is a famous bronze sculpture with 2 hands with 10 thumbs as opposed to 4 fingers and a thumb. Likewise the thumbs are depicted as being surgically reattached much like a Frankenstein of sorts. Nonetheless this piece is fairly interesting if not even disturbing and I love it. It is unsigned and please see the photos as part of the description. The piece comes from a wealthy collector here in Michigan who passed on leaving behind a plethora of very interesting and controversial works of Art. According to a person handling the estate a local Auction house sold off the easily identifiable pieces as one might say the low hanging fruit...and left behind the more bizarre or Avant-Garde works of Art which included unmarked or unidentifiable pieces. This bronze fit all of the above. It's a great piece and deserves to be enjoyed. Neuman's works bring hundreds of thousands into the millions.
