Antique Bronze Boy Lamp Sculpture French Austrian Nautilus Art Glass Shade era

$ 2250.00
Up for consideration is an incredible Antique Cast Bronze Figural Lamp of a boy.
The piece is unsigned and is missing it's shade. The lamp may have had a Nautilus, Art Glass or Beaded shade. It stands about 10.5 inches in height and weighs a whopping 8.5 lbs. Please understand that this is a very substantial lamp not to be confused with a cheap knockoff or spelter or low quality poor man's bronze lamp. This is a genuine work of art with consistently fine casting from the floral  buckles on his shoes to his finger nails and handsome face. It looks to have been made sometime in the latter part of the 19th century. The artist strategically utilizes a hanging scarf to his advantage by creating a much need support to allow the boy in his gravity defying lift and carrying of the shade. This is a first class endeavor. In a perusal of the historical record a similar piece can not be found. In and around the time of this lamp figural lighting was popular of which artists used natural things such as nautilus or a carved alabaster shade to add a little realism to the lamp. Other lamps incorporated beaded clusters of floral embellishments etc...anyways for the few of you who actually understand and appreciate the work and quality put into such I thank you for taking the time to read this.  If you have any questions, concerns or something to share feel free to message me.
