1 Antique Nautical Art Nouveau Boy Italian Fishing Bronze Sculpture Sport 17"

$ 595.00

Up for consideration is an Italian late 19th Century Art Nouveau Italian Bronze
Portrait busts of young boy in fishing garb. The bust stand about 17 inches in height and sports a stepped marble base. The boy is smiling away and has a fishing net around his necks with marine floats and crucifix on his pendant with a straw hat. This appears to be inline when their was great interest in Genre Art meaning people wanted to see and appreciate ordinary people in natural setting that differed from their...more or less the common person from another cultural was being celebrated for their exotic way of life. This was made sometime at the end of the Art Nouveau era probably around the turn of the century or slightly newer..maybe into the 1920's fades and changing art styles didn't change overnight but caught on then gradually worked its way in and out of the marketplace. It is signed V. Musell(o)a. If you have any questions or concerns please message me. Buyer pays shipping. Please note I have another bronze of another peasant boy that is shown in the photos of which is being sold separately. They came from the same Grand old Estate however they are by different artists. Like any old Art Gallery it was always about pleasing the customer...and Old European Galleries were not different. They offered a variety of pieces with different bases etc...one could order pieces or buy what was in the Gallery...so it makes sense that someone wanted matching bases on similar art works...They displayed better...but again the auction is for only 1 bronze the other is being sold separately.

Best Regards,

Johnny
