This Violetta hand cut 24% lead crystal decanter with stopper is truly elegant.
The decanter and stopper feature a star/whirling pinwheel design with a starburst base on the decanter. It is in very good vintage condition. The only issue I can see is a possible very small nick on the side of decanter (shown in last picture). No issues with the stopper. The glass is clear and has a beautiful sparkle. The decanter and stopper when together measure 11 1/4" tall. The decanter base has a 7 1/2" diameter. The decanter alone is 6 1/2" tall with a 2 1/8" top diameter. The stopper is 4" in length and the ball has an approximate 2 1/2" diameter. Weighs 4# 10oz It still retains its original foil sticker that reads Violetta Made in Poland Hand Cut 24% Lead Crystal. Ships decanters came into use toward the end of the 18th century as a means of ensuring stability, with its wide, flat base during rough seas.Friendly reminder that vintage items often have some imperfections due to age, previous use, or manufacturing blemishes consistent with the era of their origin.
