Description
1206----1831 WILLIAM CREAGER MEROM INDIANA MERCHANT LEDGER
Historical ledger from the small town of Merom, Sullivan County, Indiana.
Belonging to the Creager family, most notably John and William H. Creager.
Ledger begins with many interesting scribbles, names, locations, etc.
Then several pages of entries from 1831, then several blank pages, and then we
move into the 1870s.
More scribbling in the back. Saw a note from 1828, believed to be the oldest
in the book.
Many, many citizens are listed here. Could be some very well known people,
including many
possibly born well before the 1800s. War veterans, politicians, etc. One in
particular we noticed
was General Henry French who served in the War of 1812.
There are also several notebook pages of very old recipes and remedies.
Overall the ledger is in fairly good shape. The covers are worn as expected but
the entire book remains intact.
The inside content is is in very good shape and fairly easy to read.
The ledger measures 13 x 8-1/2 x 2-5/8 and weighs close to six pounds.
Please review over 60 pages of content that we have photographed.
