Description
5137----1836 NY HERALD - UNION COURSE RACE TRACK (QUEENS NY) HISTORIC ACCOUNT This is an original issue of the NY Herald, May 4, 1836 concerning an important one-on-one horse race at the legendary "Union Course" which occurred on May 3, 1836. Amazing eyewitness account of a race between "Margaret Arnstead" and "Admiral." Owned by John Heth and Robert Tillotson respectively. The long article is filled with historic details and appears on page 1. This is the complete four page issue in good condition considering this newspaper is 190 years old. Expect some old water marks, wrinkles, etc. Review the images of the article along with other random items from this newspaper. Please note:  We were able to find the actual ad for this event which appeared in the May 2, 1836 issue of the "Evening Post." This extra clipping can be previewed here, but is NOT included with the sale of the newspaper in this listing. (The actual newspaper images are much clearer than our images). * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
