How This Mount Works in Practice
These mounts create a "floating" wall display by gripping the helmet through its ear hole so the mounting hardware stays completely concealed behind the helmet:
Base Plate to Wall: The circular black base plate mounts directly onto the wall with the 3 drywall anchors and screws. The two black rubber-capped posts point upward, and the single white rubber-capped post sits at the bottom.
Stud Through the Ear Hole: The center threaded post extends outward from the wall. You slide the helmet's ear hole over this central stud until the exterior shell rests snugly against the cushioned rubber posts (which keep the paint from scratching and prevent wobbling).
Internal Lock: From underneath/inside the helmet, you slide the large silver washer over the threaded post and hand-tighten the wing nut down. This clamps the helmet shell between the wall mount base and the internal washer, locking the helmet firmly in profile view.
