1977 Ist World Champion Waterfowl Alfred Ponte LA Duck Decoy Wood 1977

Up for consideration is vintage wooden duck decoy by noted World Championship carver competitor Alfred Ponte. This bird is incredible in quality and realism. It measures 7.25 inches in length and sports artist's burn mark and dedication to Jean & Harry Toms 5-30-78. Vintage Competition carved birds are seemingly underated in value and quality in the collecting world...but so were decoys in general at one time. As the market shifts expands and more interest grows  into these early competition exhibition quality birds so will there value.
