19th C Wrought Iron Cast Bronze figural Fireplace Tool set French Italian 38"

Up for consideration is a fine set of mid to late 19th Century Figural cast Bronze and hand Wrought iron fireplace implements. Overall height is about 38 inches. They have wonderful cast young boy handles with hand finished detailing with hand wrought worked iron bodies. Each piece in it's own right is a work of art with twisted stems with floral and Medieval style motifs...running up and down the long iron appendages. I have seen such work on early Italian pieces...likewise another observation is that one should not quickly pass the set off as slightly substandard or second rate when assessing the casting of the figural handles...to be clear when handling such piece on a regular basis the faces wear and round out...quite often casting as such are first quality equal to jewelry casting with clear features details etc. and when they are picked up daily the features blurr etc...and noses get rounded...so understand the quality is there it is just worn down. The other thing to consider is that the quality of this set is fairly high meaning...you may be able to find a set with little too no wear on the handles but not to many were made that were better. Mind you there is a whole World of finer implements that would cost more than a new car if you are talking Thormire or first era French Empire casting or some designer sets and of course there is Stickley and MCM set that will also send you the bank for a loan. But for the most part this is a very good set that would have came from an estate that probably had a Carriage House property wealth and may have been commissioned.    Please see photos as part of the description.   If you have any questions or something to share please message me...Buyer pays shipping.
