Hello this sale is for the large 5 light light chandelier...it is a wonderful
French painted bronze and crystal 5 light chandelier with original swagging and
draped crystals. It comes complete with original hanging chain and canopy. It
dates from the 1930's and is of fine quality. The fixture without the chain
measures 20 inches in diameter by 24 inches in height including the prisms at
the bottom. The chain and canopy add another 12 inches so the maximum drop is 38
inches. One can also shorten the chain so that the minimun drop is about 31
inches or so. The chandelier sports its orginal green coloration with colored
prisms. It has 2 horizontal chained and swagged with colored beads going from
arm to arm...likewise a long chain from the top near the canopy drapes down to
the light. The fixture will be completely disassembled accept for the arms...so
if you are not a fixture person and you think it looks cute and you can spend a
few minutes stringing a few strands you are wrong. It is a major undertaking and
requires skills patience and motivation. Most of the prisms are off and there
is about a few inches of clear chain beads that are not present. So expect
strands loose detached and some larger prisms. I say this because it was sent to
someone already who thought you can ship these and you pull it out of a box and
it looks like it does in the photos...in the real world thes old chandeliers are
fragile with crusty old wiring and the wires to the prisms needing to be
repinned which is a huge undertaking...i have done it before it is possible but
most people are unaware of the work that goes on behind the scenes when
purchasing things..like on reality tv series...it just doesnt work the way
things go...I try to go over the fixtures....more often than not with older
fixtures along with the process of removing some prisms become detached....and
may or may not be reattached for shooting. This fixture does not have
functioning wiring however it needs to be rewired by a professional before
installation. If you have any questions or something to share...please note the
last photo is showing the other chandelier together with the smaller one...the
larger one is being sold separately also. Some prisms may be removed for
shipping.
Best Regards,
Johnny
