Up for consideration is a fine hand painted French Covered footed bonbon dish with hand painted courted scenes in cobalt blue. The measurses 8 inches wide 7.25 inches in height. It is marked France on the inside lid along with another cobalt mark covered in gold paint. The piece is characterized as having 2 kidney shaped cartouches on top sporting a hand painted scenic landscape on one side and a pair of courting lovers on the other. Likewise the bronze mounts are of pretty good quality with fine crisp casting. These are often used for display cabinet pieces or bonbon dishes.
