Up for consideration is an E.F.Caldwell Renaissance Revival fine casted lamp.
It measures about 60.50 inches in height by 11 inches and there is a shade
adjuster so it can slide down a few inches. It has 3 dimensional Gargoyles or
Griffin on a triform base. The casting is unbelievable. The thing to note about
this lamp is that a compilation of small pieces separately cast then assembled
as opposed to largely low budget things blocked together and casted as a chunk.
A real sign of quality. The lamp dates from about the turn of the century. It
does not appear to be signed. The base looks to be made of wood and my guess is
that it probably was marble at one time but it is not for sure...If one looks
through the historical one can find a few pieces as such with marble bases.
