Up for consideration is an absolutely incredible Heavily jewel/paneled
Architectural Gothic Archetype Demilune Transom stained glassed window. It
measures 34.5 inches by 24 inches. Please undertand that each piece of round
glass is literally a thick disc sculpture that has been ground and polished
with flared rays...the tapered blue pieces in alternating hues of blue is
mesmerizing when viewed in person...The round jewels are about 4.5 inches in
diameter with the rays being about 9 inches in length...all good original pieces
with no chips cracks or visible repairs...the glass appears to be about 3/4
inches thick...and I can not find any work similar in this style of heavy robust
pieces...the central portion looks to a sort of frosty appearance with the sides
being very heavily bevelled...and in fact it a Chipped Ice pattern that was
patented and used in the US..first at the turn of the Century...I just like
it...the whole paneling or frame is wood there is no metal. It dates from the
latter part of the 19th Century...yes bigger is somewhat always better in
Windows for the most part but this one will fit nicely into a collection as it
is not overwhelming...easy to look and top notch in Aesthetics.
