Description
Up for consideration is a monumental pair of Italian terracotta figural vintage pottery lamps in the form of Pineapples. They Stand about 36 inches in height with a diameter of about 10 inches and were done sometime in the mid 50's to mid 60's . They sport their original sockets finials and old green felt on the bottom. You see lamps out there are very nice and meet expectations but these are just over the top...wonderful form coloration and of course the right material...the lesser quality items coming out of Italy during this time were usually made of ceramic but these like the wonderful large figural animals elephant garden seats and zebras etc. were made of red clay or terracotta. It was heavy more substantial and glazed like the old majolica giving it that one step beyond quality that makes these and other pieces of the genre stand out. These probably represent the best of the figural pineapple lamps available on the market...look for yourself... please see photos as part of the description.
