Italian School Veduta Old Master Canal Venice Oil painting reframed Battaglioli

up for consideration fine old Italian "Veduta" probably of the Grand Canal in Venice. Looks to be in the style of an Old Masters works of which one can easily rule out the frame as being replaced...The painting measures 19 inches by 25 inches without the frame. The painting itself is old and crusty and is mounted on an unusual stretcher that appears to be a simple lap joinery but it has a dado joint slipped in there also. Likewise there is a curious straight light that follows along about 1/4 inch above the frame of which may indicate the painting has be relined. The painting itself has the old world charm about it and is in the style Caneletto or Battaglioli. It sports a tag on the front "Antonio Battaglioli" that may have been gleaned from the previous frame. There is no listing at all for that name... There is some known collaborative efforts between Francesco Battaglioli and Antonio Visentini of which Battaglioli replaced Antonio as the professor of perspective at the Venetian Academy in 1778. Perhaps only wishful thinking on my part.  It is possible the piece is from the end of the 18th century or early part of the 19th century. I've been buying and selling art going on 4 decades and I am on a good day a novice when it comes to Old Masters works. Please understand this is the art world sometimes things come to us with provenance sometimes they have been relined, altered, fragmented, painted in and painted over features depending on the century and the taste of the restorers over the years. Furthermore there are countless decorative copies of great masters that have been made over the centuries.
