Up for consideration is an old pair of Antique Gilt Bronze and Porcelain two arm
wall sconces by E.F. Caldwell. The sconces measure a whopping 22 inches in
height by 12 inches wide...and are of the finest quality. They are stamped with
the Caldwell mark c within a lozenge. Looks as if one flower is missing and
there is some like infractions or chips on a few of the other flowers. These are
pre code meaning they they hung by the horizontal mounting bar and the wired
into the wall. They date probably around 1910 or 1920 or so. The candle cups are
thick and heavy and cast not stamped. It is difficult to capture the beauty of
these in a photograph as they are so big that when backing up the floral
embellishments justify into white areas instead of the fine delicate color
pieces. I have had some very nice Caldwell sconces over the years and these are
quite unique and way better than average...on a Good Better Best sort of scale
these would be on their way to Best. If you have any questions concerns or
something to share please feel free to contact me. Buyer pays shipping.
Best Regards,
John
