1980s Tessellated Travertine Stone Jewelry Box with Pencil Reed Bow

Vintage 1980s, tessellated travertine stone Jewelry Box with large white-washed pencil reed Bow. This large jewelry chest opens on 2 brass hinges at the back to reveal a black velveteen lined interior with 2 removable stacking shelves, one that is split into 3 sections for separating jewelry pieces. The bottom of the chest is also covered in black velveteen. This box measures 10  1/8" wide, 8 1/4" deep, 11" high and is very heavy - 10 lbs. This is likely a product of Renoir Designs (not marked), a company that produced many high quality decorative items in the '80s using artisans in the Philippines to realize their lavishly decorated classical and post modern style items that used natural materials such as stone, wood, leather and metals. This box is in very good condition, with only some slight signs of aging on the wood of the bow on top, slight bottom wear and hairline on inside edge - see photos for details.  Clean and ready to use. Due to its large size, the box can hold a larger collection of jewelry. A striking statement piece for a well appointed closet, vanity or dresser in the bedroom.
