Description
Two (2) vintage 1930s, silver plate cereal Spoons with embossed "Mickey Mouse" and likeness on the handle. William Rogers & Sons, which became part of International Silver Company later, produced a number of cups, bowls and silverware pieces for Disney from 1931 to 1939. These spoons were sold as a send-away gift by Post cereals' Toasties. At the time, when you bought a box of Toasties, you could take the box top, completed the order form and sent in 25 cents and receive on of these spoons in the mail. Spoons measure 6" long, 1 3/8" wide and 1 1/2" high. Marked Wm. Rogers Mfg. Co. IS on the back of the handle, designating that these were Branford silver plate from the 30s. These spoons show wear with surface scratches, silver plate wear and one spoon bowl is bent on one side, however the Mickey Mouse (with its "Pie" eyes) and the "Mickey Mouse" lettering are still clearly visible. A cute and useful collectible, sure to bring a smile to any early morning or late night snack or be a fun addition for serving jam or berries.
