2 Vtg Straw Wicker Square Trivet Hot Pad Boho Mid Century Wall Decor Red Green

Pair of vintage 1970s, square woven straw trivets in a multicolored sunburst motif. These red, blue, yellow and green trivets measure 7" (17.7cm) square and 1/2" (1.2cm) high. These trivets were crafted  in Sweden of vegetable dyed, woven/ flat braided natural straw strips that were curled, bent and shaped into various swirl designs and fastened from the side with large stitches. Popular in the 1970s as hot pads and trivets for plants in the kitchen, living and dining rooms and for outdoor entertaining, these trivets continue to be well-loved items on tables and countertops. More recently, they have been used for crafting into wreaths, placemats and floor mats, showing off their riots of color and swirling motifs. Classic, colorful, practical, fun.
