Antique English Oak Barley Twist Umbrella / Cane Hall Stand

Antique, English oak Umbrella or Cane Hall Stand with barley twist legs, 6 compartments and removable enameled tin bottom pan. This stand measures 22" wide, 9 1/4" deep and 26 1/4" high (to the top of the finials on the corners. Although this is a fairly light piece - 4 1/2 lbs - it is sturdy due to the old oak material and the 6 leg, dovetail and peg-jointed construction and the top crossbars are reinforced with brads. Turned oak finials and feet on all four corners. The bottom pan is covered with black enamel to protect the floor underneath from drips and dirt from umbrellas and canes. It has loops on either end for easy removal for cleaning. This stand is in very good condition with its original finish and patina and wear commensurate with age. Some small bends in the edges of the bottom pan. See photos for details. A handsome and practical old piece for an entry or mudroom.
