Arts & Crafts Brass Fire Dogs Fireplace Tool Rests Pair Andirons Stands

Pair of antique, American Arts & Crafts cast brass Fire Dogs or Fireplace Tool Rests with polished brass finish. These very heavy fire dogs are constructed of 4 cast brass pieces that are fitted and screwed together. The style and details reflect the simplicity and functionality of the Arts & Crafts aesthetic, giving these an almost modern look. They each measure 7 3/4" high, 4 1/2" wide at the base of the feet and 7 1/4" deep and weigh 3 lbs, 3 oz. Originally used next to a fireplace to lean fireplace tools on or to hold dirty tools off the floor, but can be repurposed during warm times of year or in other settings as stands (see photos for suggestions). One of the fire dogs looks slightly bent, however the top cross piece is level with the top piece of its mate so this anomaly could be original to the set. A nice set of fire dogs with classic style to suit any contemporary or traditional space.
