Earth Orbit Glenn Schirra Carpenter Newspaper Lot 1961 - 1962 Indianapolis News

Set of 4, vintage editions of the Indianapolis-based Newspapers containing headline articles about man's first Orbit of Earth in the early 1960s. One is a copy of the front section of the Evansville Courier, Jul 22, 1961, detailing the efforts of Gus Grissom's space flight. Another is a full copy of the Indianapolis News (in plastic wrap) from February 20, 1962 announcing the achievement of John Glenn as the first man to orbit the earth. Another is the front section of the Indianapolis News from May, 1962 highlighing Scott Carpenter's orbit. The last is the front section of the Indianapolis News from October, 1962 when Walter Shirra orbited the earth twice. All of these editions have been in storage for some time and are in good condition with condition commensurate with age - see photos for details. The set gives an interesting view on a historic achievement!
