HABAN Swiss Blue White Pottery Faience/Majolica Bowl Hungary/Slovakia NWT

Vintage, New with Tag, blue and white hand-painted majolica Haban pottery replica from the Hungarian Museum of Fine Art. Painted with a charming 17 century landscape with a hunter in period attire surrounded with typical northern Hungarian motifs and background. This was made as an example of the ancient form of pottery of the Haban people, who were driven out of their native Switzerland in the 16th century due to their beliefs and settled in northern Hungary, Germany and the Netherlands. The crafts of the Habans had great influence on their new homelands. A lovely little decorative bowl, which can be hung or used on a table.
