Coordinating set of 3, Jim Thompson 100% Thai Silk Decorative Pillow Covers with hidden zip closures. These 18" by 18" covers are unused, new with original tags. Photos show covers stuffed with 20" x 20" inserts, not included. The center of the set has a coral, seashell motif in a realistic style, depicting various tropical native corals, sand dollars and ammonite-shaped shells in browns, greys and corals on a beige background and tan printed edges. Jim Thompson brand mark printed into the pattern on both front and back. The other two covers are solid, heavy woven silk with copper-colored silk on one side and beige on the other. Jim Thompson signature mark is stitched in matching thread to the beige side of each cover. Jim Thompson, known as the "King of Silk" and former architect, was known for his significant role in the the revival of the silk industry in Thailand in the 1950s and is remembered not only for his high quality products, but for his love of the Thai people and his extensive art collection and teak wood mansion (now a museum). Despite his mysterious disappearance in 1967, his businesses continue to thrive from their base in Korat, and include fabrics, clothing, furniture and more. This set of pillow covers is a very good example of what the brand offers today. A lovely set for a bed or sofa.
