Limoges hand painted Plate with romantic courting scene

Vintage B & H Limoges, hand painted Plate with wide gold rim and center romantic courting scene. The touching scene shows an elegantly dressed pair in 18th century fashion on a walk, feeding ducks. The plate has a scalloped and embossed edge with heavy gold leafing. This plate has seen extensive wear as shown in the thinning and wear in the gold leaf and in the fine scalloped and floral border of the center scene and the presence of a slight chip on the left edge of the dish (see photos for details). Limoges marks on reverse. Despite the distressed condition, this charming plate can still be enjoyed as a decor item or to serve small treats for coffee/tea or as part of an engagement/wedding gift with chocolates.
