LOS CASTILLO SIGNED STERLING SILVER BIRD SCREW BACKS EARRINGS

Vintage pair of signed, Los Castillo Sterling Silver Bird Earrings. These earrings are " high and " wide with birds that have their wings spread open as if ready to fly or land. Earrings attach to ear with vintage screw backs. In excellent condition with embossed mark on reverse - see photos for details. The Castillo brothers, Jorge, Miguel and Justo started their own silversmithing (as well as working with other metals) operation, Los Castillo, in 1939, after training in William Spratling's Las Delicias workshop. Due to their incredible craftsmanship, Los Castillo became known as

one of the best silversmith studios in Taxco, Mexico, in the 20th century. Los Castillo jewelry pieces highly collectible and remain popular today. These birds radiate the charm in the design work and the classic craftsmanship of the Los Castillos pieces. Lovely set for a collection, to wear or as a gift!
