First New England Press edition 1981, stated, a reprint of the 1937 First Edition from Stephen Daye Press. The book includes black-and-white photos. Clarence DeMar (1888-1958) won the Boston Marathon 7 times between 1911 and 1930, finished in the top ten 15 times, and ran in a total of 34 marathons in his lifetime. The book is square, unmarked and with clean pages, the corners sharp but slightly bumped, spine and spine ends good and some foxing to page edges and on front and back inside covers. The dust jacket is chipped and slightly edgeworn. See photos for details. Book measures 6" x 8" x 1" . Wonderful book for a runner, sports fan, history buff or for a story to inspire.
